Lake Bluff History Museum’s annual Crab Tree Farm Tour is on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Join the Museum for a docent-led tour of the historic Crab Tree Farm. This “crown jewel” of the North Shore is the only operating farm in Illinois situated on Lake Michigan.
The Experience: Participants will visit several farm buildings designed by renowned architect Solon Spencer Beman in 1911. The tour features:
- World-class collections of American and British Arts & Crafts decorative art
- Buildings primarily furnished with Gustav Stickley furniture from 1900–1920
- A rare look inside the workshop of master woodworker Mike Jarvi
- Insights into the farm’s history, from Grace Durand’s model dairy farm to its extensive 40-year restoration by the current owners

- Price: $25 for members / $35 for non-members (typical pricing)
- Policy: First-come, first-served. Advance purchase is required; no refunds
- Photography Policy: Please note that photography is strictly prohibited inside the farm buildings and museum galleries to protect the private collection
